Michele Schina

Starting your first business can feel like you are flying by the seat of your pants. No one knows it better than Michele Schina who, in 2003, founded TMS II, LLC within fifteen minutes of receiving her first contract. Although at the time of its conception her plan was not fully developed, Michele had dreamed of having her own business since age thirteen.
That dream followed Michele into adulthood, but the necessity after college to immediately form a career and earn income took precedent. Directly out of Drexel University in 1992 with summa cum laude honors, Michele began her career at KPMG where she was employed for 11 years, earning her designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She advanced to the position of Senior Auditing Manager, where her clients ranged from entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses to large multi-national private and publicly held corporations. It was at KPMG where Michele acquired the knowledge and training she needed, not only in accounting, tax and advisory services, but in leading teams, and working with Boards of Directors and Senior Management. After eleven years, the timing aligned itself the opportunity for Michele to leave KPMG and take the inevitable leap to start her own CPA firm.

The foundation of Michele’s first business, TMS II, LLC, derived from her passion of problem-solving and helping her clients have the best strategic and financial experience. Michele’s success from TMS II, LLC inspired her to expand. In 2020 she co-formed BBDS, a technology outsourcing company. Just shortly after, in 2021, Michele established Beyond Strategy Partners with two other women founders Meggan Ciaccia and Megan Patton.
Now, Michele’s overall goal in life is to build the wealth of entrepreneurs and the next generation of women entrepreneurs which she does as chairwoman of the National Association of Women Business Owner’s (NAWBO) NextGen Committee. Previously, Michele spent 14 years, holding various committee and leadership positions at NAWBO. As a breast cancer survivor  Michele is passionate about the well-being of those around her. Michele co-led the Pink Tie Ball Committee of Susan G. Komen Philadelphia in 2017-2018, raising over $1 Million in the fight against breast cancer. Since those early days, Michele’s businesses have evolved to focus more on strategic thinking, employee and team development, accounting and operational infrastructure, financial excellence, and leaving a legacy. These components compel Michele and the Beyond Strategy Partners team to plan and then work the plan. Michele thrives on others’ businesses being uber successful. To train and educate entrepreneurs gives her great joy.
